The Gaskarov Folk Dance Ensemble performed in Instambul on the final concert of the cross year of culture of Russian and Turkey. The concert called Russian Mosaic will be held on Wednesday, January 8, in Istanbul. The heads of cultural departments of both countries visited the event as guests of honor.
There were also the performances of famous Russian art groups and performers. Among them are the Pyatnitsky folk choir, Nokhcho folk song and dance ensemble, singer Elmira Kalimullina, balalaika player Viktor Olehnovich and master of throat singing Olena Uutai.
According to Russia's culture minister Vladimir Medinsky, the key tasks of the cross year were the popularization of cultural heritage and the development of tourism potential. He is confident that this helps to strengthen human, friendly relations between the peoples of both countries.
