A decree was signed on awarding the Government Prize in 2018 of Fedor Volkov for his contribution to the development of theatrical art. Among those who received the high award was the Bashkir Drama Theater named after Mazhit Gafuri. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

“In June 2018, the Collegium of the Ministry of Culture of Russia decided to award the Bashkir Order of the Red Banner of Labor to the Academic Drama Theater named after Mazhit Gafuri, the Vologda Regional Puppet Theater“ Teremok ”, Zhakamuhovaya Kune Khazhbarovna, the leading drama artist of the Kabardinsky State Drama Theater. Ali Shogentsukova, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People’s Artist of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, ”reads the explanatory note.

The Fyodor Volkov Prize was established in 1999. No more than three prizes are awarded annually.
