"Book forum" will take place tomorrow, September 30rd.
September 30, in the Ufa Congress hall will take place the regional "Book forum" initiated by the Russian book union together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan for the purpose of promoting of literature and reading in the region.
The action unites interests of representatives of business and culture of the region, all residents of Ufa and the Republic of Bashkortostan who will be able to discuss topical issues of support and development of infrastructure of reading, education, and the prospects of implementation of cultural and social projects with representatives of a book industry.
Within the plenary session heads of the Russian book union, representatives of various departments of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the state, public, cultural organizations of the region will discuss the questions connected with development of infrastructure of reading at "Book forum" – bookstores, libraries, electronic libraries and social projects directed to support of interest in reading among the population of the republic including youth.
"Development of infrastructure of reading and a program implementation of promotion of the book are dictated by urgent need of increase in number of the reading Russians. According to sociological polls, in 2015 more than 30% of Russians didn't read any book. Also it is connected not only with distribution of the Internet, popularity of books and reading very strongly depend on the level of development of infrastructure of reading in the region. For us it is important to change this situation, to leave from such indicators and to return to number of the leading countries by the number of the reading citizens. Reading is the cornerstone of cultural and intellectual potential of the country, positively influences quality of life of her citizens", – the president of the Publishing “ExmoAST” group, the vice-president of the Russian book union Oleg Novikov notes.
Within work of sections such hot topics as sociocultural projects and book business, interaction of public authorities of the Republic of Bashkortostan and industry book community, a possibility of public-private partnership in the field of development of infrastructure of reading and many other things will be discussed.
One of sections is devoted to a book role as the educational tool. "The most traditional competence on intelligent reading became key in an education system and development of the younger generation today. Understanding of meanings of the text – the burning topic, and our projects are aimed at the development of slow, thoughtful reading which promotes harmonious development of the identity of the pupil", – emphasizes Artem Simonovich Soloveychik, the vice-president for strategic communications and development of the joint publishing “Drofa” group - "VENTANA-GRAF", the editor-in-chief of Publishing House of "The first September".
