On December 15, a meeting was held at the Victory Museum (Moscow) on the topic “Actual Issues of Support and Development of Military History Museums in the Subjects of the Russian Federation”. Presentations were made by representatives of the Federation Council, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education of Russia, as well as the heads of federal and regional military history museums.
“Military history museums should and can accumulate all patriotic activities in the regions and are simply obliged to become centers of patriotic, spiritual and moral education of young people,” said Alexander Shkolnik, director of the Victory Museum, deputy secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Director Ilshat Utyaev spoke about his projects, the activities of the Republican Museum of Military Glory, the main work to preserve historical memory.
As a result of the meeting, senators and heads of military history museums developed proposals for the support and development of military history museums in Russia and the preservation of historical truth.
