October 29 and 30, 2016 the ballet "Legend of Love" of Arif Melikov directed by Yury Grigorovich will become the second premiere of the 79th theatrical season of Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre.      

As the assistants of the famous choreographer are the honored artist of the Russian Federation Oleg Rachkovsky and Olga Vasyuchenko.

It is important that 2016 for "Legend" is anniversary: the performance for the first time appeared to the viewer 55 years ago, on March 23, 1961 at the Leningrad Opera and ballet Theater of S. M. Kirov (nowadays – the Maryinsky Theater). Then "The legend of love" was delivered by Yury Grigorovich in the commonwealth with the largest theatrical artist Simon Wirsaladze who developed scenery and suits. As authors of the libretto based on east legends the Turkish poet, the writer, the playwright and the public figure, the author of the play "Width and Ferkhad" Nazym Hikmet and Yury Grigorovich acted.

Fine east history was delivered tens of times by different ballet masters in Russia and abroad. The Ufa premiere will become the twelfth statement of "A legend of love" by Yury Grigorovich: it was preceded by performances in Leningrad and Novosibirsk (1961), Baku (1962), Prague (1963), Moscow (1965, 2002, 2014), Yekaterinburg (1997), Istanbul (2000), Krasnodar (2006), Alma-Ata (2007).

"Legend of love" is the seventh statement of Yury Grigorovich in Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

At the heart of a plot is ancient east legend. Two sisters are Miekhmenge Banu and Shirin – passionately fall in love with the court artist Ferkhad. If Shirin wins directly the heart of the beautiful young man, then the way to love for Miekhmenge Banu is closed forever: once it offered the beauty for the sake of salvation of life of the sister and turned into the terrible old woman. But also the lovers who ran away from the palace are waited by this testing owing to which Ferkhad will offer the love for the sake of salvation of the people…

The conductor-director of a performance is the honored worker of arts of RB, Herman Kim.

The artistic director of ballet troupe is the honored actress of the Russian Federation and RB, the winner of the State award of S. Yulaev, the owner of the prize “Dance Soul” from the “Balet” magazine Leonora Kuvatova.
