At the beginning of the new year according to the lunar calendar, the Spring Gala Festival of Chinese Poetry was held in the Philippines. Poets and writers all over the world were invited to take part in this grandiose international forum, held in the format of a ZOOM conference.

The well-known Chinese poet and translator Tian Yu presented new translations of humorous poems by the people's writer of the Republic of Bashkortostan Marcel Salimov (Mar. Salim).

As Yu Hunying, Vice President of the Spring Chinese Poetry Festival, Director of the Philippine Gala Festival, noted in his greetings, “Tian Yu is an excellent young poet and a messenger of international poetry exchange. Thanks to him, poets from more than 50 countries around the world united around the Spring Chinese Poetry Gala Festival for poetry exchange, which contributed the spread and development of international poetry culture.”

At the end of a large literary forum, there were solemnly announced the names of 15 winners of the Philippine Gala Festival. Mar. Salim’s name was in this list, as well as his talented creative friends Abdukakhhor Kosim (Tajikistan), Elena Ananyeva (Germany), Olga Levadnaya (Russia), Nigar Arif (Azerbaijan) and others.

The winners were awarded the title "Best Poet". They were given a certificate which reads: “At the Philippine Spring Chinese Poetry Gala Festival, your work was awarded the Best Poet Award. Congratulations!"

The poems of the winners of the international festival will be published in a poetry collection in Chinese and English.
