The Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, told the Bashinform News Agency that on October 29, after a hard 35-day struggle with the disease, the Mayor of Ufa, Ulfat Mansurovich Mustafin, died as a result of complications caused by pneumonia and COVID-19.
The Head of the Republic offered his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Ulfat Mansurovich Mustafin was born on May 4, 1959, in the village of Staroikhsanovo, Chekmagushevsky district. He graduated from the Ufa Technical College of Light Industry, the Ufa Aviation Institute, then served in the army. Candidate of Technical Sciences.
He began his career in the Ufa housing and utility administration. He worked as a chief engineer of the Industrial Trust for Housing, Head of the Public Utilities Department in the Executive Committee of the Kirovsky District Council, Deputy Head of the Department of Housing and Engineering Services in Ufa. Since the 90s, he has worked for the Gazprom corporation.
In 2003, Ulfat Mustafin joined the Executive Office of the President of Bashkiria as the head of the financial and economic department. In 2010-2013, he worked in the Urals Department of the Federal Service for Economic, Technological and Nuclear Supervision, and then returned to Gazprom.
From the post of Deputy General Director of PJSC “Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Ufa,” he moved to the post of Ufa Mayor exactly two years ago, on October 29, 2018.
