The Minister of Culture, Amina Shafikova, presented the Nureyevsky memorial sign to the ballet company of Bashkir Ballet and Opera Theater. The other day, the theater announced that its ballet company would bear the name of the famous dancer Rudolf Nureyev from now on.

The presentation of the memorial sign to the art director of the Bashkir ballet Leonora Kuvatova took place on the stage of the theater yesterday, before Adam's play "Giselle".

Leonora Kuvatova stressed that this would be a huge responsibility, a high bar that the company would try to hold.

General Director of the theater Ilmar Almukhametov reminded the audience that the play "Giselle" was associated with Nureyev's name. After graduating from the Vaganov Ballet School, Rudolf Nureyev began his career in this ballet on the Kirovsky (Mariinsky) Theater stage.
