The historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia will see the second performance of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater "Don Quixote" staged by the famous opera bass, Honored Artist of Russia Askar Abdrazakov. The premiere is scheduled for August 3.
The republican ministry of culture recalled that the first production of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater took place in March. Then the Bolshoi Theater showed the play "Attila". The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov attended the performance.
Note that in Russia, this production is performed only in two theaters. Until recently, it could only be seen at the Mariinsky Theater, and now it has appeared in the repertoire of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater.
It is noteworthy that the main part — Don Quixote — was created by the composer, especially for the world-famous bass Fyodor Chaliapin, who made his first professional steps in Ufa.
The opera's premiere performances took place on the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater stage in May 2021, gathering a full audience and excellent reviews from both amateurs and experts in the field of musical art. All departments of the theater worked on the creation of the play for 14 months. About 400 costumes were made for the opera, and in addition to them, more than 200 headdresses and more than 100 pairs of shoes were made.
