On March 22, the National Symphony Orchestra of Bashkortostan presented the Johannes Brahms musical and educational concert. It was held within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society "All-Russian Philharmonic Seasons".
The concert featureed major works by the German romantic composer Johannes Brahms. Dmitry Kryukov, the chief conductor of the NSO RB, Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, was a conductor and a presenter of the event.
The famous Moscow pianist, laureate of the P.I. Tchaikovsky International Competition Alexey Melnikov was a soloist. Together with the orchestra, he performed Brahms' Second Concerto.
Alexey Melnikov was born in Moscow, a graduate of the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. He is a prizewinner of international competitions in Russia, Italy, Japan, USA. In 2019 he won the III prize of the 16th P.I. Tchaikovsky International Competition. He tours the cities of Russia, and Europe, takes part in various international festivals.
In the second part, symphony No. 4 will sound — the last work by J. Brahms in a large symphonic genre, completing his creative path.
Cooperation with the Moscow Philharmonic will continue: on March 30, pianist Nikita Mndoyants (Moscow) will perform as part of the same All-Russian Philharmonic Seasons program, playing Sergei Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto.
