Opera "Salavat Yulaev" will be shown in the 80th anniversary of the BSTOiB

On the 80th anniversary of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater on December 14, Zagir Ismagilov’s opera Salavat Yulaev will be shown.

The opera Salavat Yulaev, written in 1954 as a thesis by Zagir Ismagilov, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, was the first major work of the composer.

As they say in the press service of the theater, while working on the opera, Zagir Ismagilov carefully studied the archival materials related to the Peasant War of 1773-1775. Together with librettist Bayazit Bikbay, they were repelled by historical facts. In the score, Zagir Ismagilov drew on folklore, artistically rethinking the authentic melodies of Bashkir and Russian folk songs and tunes, as well as creating their own, close musical themes.

Director - Honored Art Worker of Russia, laureate of the independent national award Platinum Tarlan Irkin Gabitov (Mariinsky Theater). Musical Director and Conductor - Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” Artem Makarov.
