The organizers of the VI World Folkloriada sent a written address to the national sections of the participating countries. Philip Bossan, President of the International Council of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts Organizations (CIOFF), Camacho González Alejandro, CIOFF Vice President for Cultural Affairs, Chairperson of the CIOFF World Folkloriada Preparation and Holding Committee, and Tamara Purtova, President of the CIOFF Russian National Section signed the letter.
“The Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan have done a great job in preparing for our main CIOFF event. The only thing left to do is to hold a festival. New dates for the Folkloriada in 2021 will be announced later”, - written in the text.
Recall that the VI World Folkloriada was planned to be held from July 18 to August 1, 2020. The festival participants announced about 80 countries of the world. In connection with the threat of the coronavirus infection spread, the event was decided to be postponed for a year.
