On February 27, Prime Minister of the Mikhailovsky Theater, Honored Artist of Russia Ivan Vasilyev will perform the part of Basil in the ballet by Ludwig Minkus “Don Quixote” in the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater.

Ivan Vasiliev is a guest soloist with La Scala and the Bavarian Ballet. He performs with the companies of the Bolshoi Theater, the Mariinsky Theater, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, the ballet troupe of the Roman Opera. On the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater, Ivan performs the leading roles in the ballets Don Quixote, La Bayadère, The Flame of Paris, Swan Lake, Corsair, Sleeping Beauty, Laurencia, Giselle, or Vilisa, Halt of cavalry ”,“ Vain precaution ”,“ Class-concert ”,“ Sylphide ”.

"Don Quixote" became the second ballet, staged at the Bashkir Theater by the People's Artist of the USSR Yury Grigorovich. He brought his editorship of choreography to Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky to Ufa in 1995, shortly after he presented it at the Bolshoi Theater. And for more than 20 years, Don Quixote has fascinated Ufa spectators with bright and thoughtful stage images, a fascinating plot, and thin directing, revealing new facets of meaning with each viewing.
