October 6 in Ufa went the solemn presentation of the collective monography "Bashkirs". The edition is prepared within the academic project "People and Cultures" by N. N. Miklukho-Maclay Institute of ethnology and anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Public figures have participated in a festive event, representatives of administration of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the State meeting Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Culture, Executive committee of the World kurultai the Bashkir, Academies of Sciences of RB.

The First Deputy Minister of Culture of the republic Valentina Latypova has congratulated all on a significant event in her welcoming speech. She has emphasized that the edition of the monography is an important event in scientific and cultural life of the republic which makes a big contribution to realization of Strategy of the state national policy of the Russian Federation for the period till 2025.

As authors of the monography research were associates of three academic institutes – Institute of ethnology and anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of history, language and literature of the Ufa scientific center of RAS and Institute of ethnological researches of R.G.Kuzeev of UNTs RAS have acted.

The vice-president of Academy of Sciences of RB Aytugan Akmanov has noted that this book has to be most popularized among the people of the republic.

The book is devoted to Bashkirs – the fourth population of the Russian Federation by number. In the collective monography are the main stages of ethnic and socio-political history, demographic processes and the modern ethnocultural development of Bashkir. Special attention is paid to study history, the analysis of sources and ethnic mapping. Certain heads of volume are devoted to language, traditional economy and a life support system, a suit, arts and crafts, family life, folklore, festive culture, religious representations and professional culture. Circulation of the monograph makes 3 thousand copies.

The book appeared in “Nauka” publishing house (Moscow) within the academic series "People and Cultures". Circulation of the book is made with assistance of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Executive committee of the World kurultai the Bashkir.
