Ufa will host the 3rd International Vladimir Spivakov Violin Competition. A major musical event will be held from October 17 to 21. Young performers from 15 to 26 years old are invited to the contest. Applications are accepted on official competition website until June 1, 2020.
The winner will be awarded a unique violin, designed by the Italian master Giuseppe Pedrazzini in 1918. Winners of 2 and 3 prizes will receive the instruments by Nicolas Kossen (Neshato, 1860-1870) and Igor Ulitsky (Moscow, 2019). The prize fund also includes two separate prizes of $ 1,000 and special prizes from the art-director of the competition Vladimir Spivakov.
The international jury headed by the outstanding violinist Mikhail Kopelman (USA) will be composed of Vladimir Spivakov (Russia), Boris Kushnir (Austria), Joji Hattori (Japan) and Tong Weidong (China).
The young violinists' competition will be held in three rounds. In the first two rounds participants will present solo programs. In final round, finalists will perform one of the violin concerts by composers of the 19th-20th centuries accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of Bashkortostan with the participation of soloists of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
The competition results will be announced on the last day of auditions — October 20, 2020. The awarding ceremony and the gala concert of the finalists will take place on October 21, 2020.
As part of the additional program of the competition, it is planned that jury members will hold master classes for young musicians, as well as master classes in orchestra performance by accompanists of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
