A solemn ceremony was held today to cancel a postage stamp issued in honor of the 100th anniversary of the national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mustai Karim. The event was held simultaneously in Moscow and Ufa, in the form of a bilateral ceremony with the participation of Russian political and public figures, cultural and art figures, as well as members of youth organizations, students and schoolchildren.

The stamp was issued simultaneously with a special postmark and envelope, also dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The stamp depicts a portrait of Mustai Karim against the background of the Bashkir landscape. A stamp with a fixed date, corresponding to the date of issuance of the stamp in circulation, is valid only today, May 15, when it will be possible to put its imprint on a stamp pasted on an envelope. The circulation of the postage stamp received by the branches throughout Russia is 128 thousand copies.

The guests of honor of the stamp cancellation ceremony in Ufa were Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova, Head of the Ufa Administration Ulfat Mustafin, director of the Bashkir branch of the Russian Post Irek Galimov and others. In Moscow, Roman Simanduev, Acting Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of the Russian Federation, founder of the M.Karim Timerbulat Foundation, General Director of the Russian Post Nikolay Podguzov, General Director of Marka JSC Artem Adibekov and others joined the solemn event.
