The performance of the Sterlitamak Theater "Giselle Botanical" was presented at the All-Russian Theater Festival "Five Evenings" named after Alexander Volodin. Four years ago, the Russian Theater of Sterlitamak already took part in it with Andrey Shlyapin's play "Gandhi Was Silent on Saturdays" based on the play by the St. Petersburg playwright Anastasia Bukreeva and received a high evaluation from the jury and an award - the bronze Volodin by the famous Rezo Gabriadze.
It is symbolic that the performance took place in St. Petersburg, because the plot of Eduard Kochergin's story takes place in the post-war city on the Neva. On the day of the performance, director Dmitry Yegorov gave the actresses a special, atmospheric tour of the Petrograd Side, where the heroines of Kochergin lived.
The governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, who was present at the evening, noted:
- How much warmth there is in this performance! The story itself is very interesting, I am grateful that it was once published in the St. Petersburg theater magazine. We are doing a festival together at the Liteiny Theater. It is the 19th festival, it's time to prepare for the next anniversary!
