On December 16, in the meeting hall of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the XIX Congress of the Regional Public Organization "Union of Writers of the Republic of Bashkortostan" was held. The results of the organization's activities for the reporting period were summed up, the chairman and composition of the board of the union were elected at the meeting.

On behalf of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, the participants were greeted by the Chairman of the State Assembly - the Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev. He called the congress a significant event in the public life of the republic, and told that creation in 1934 of the Union of Writers of the Republic was an important milestone in the development of Bashkir literature.

Flyur Galimov withdrew his candidacy, urging his colleagues to cast their votes for Aigiz Baimukhametov. A member of the counting commission announced the results: the young author Aigiz Baimukhametov was elected chairman of the writers' organization by a majority of votes.
