On March 10, as part of the Golden Mask festival, the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater will present the opera Vita Nuova (New Life) on the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

The production was shortlisted for the XXVIII Russian National Theater Award "Golden Mask" in six categories at once:

- "Opera/Performance" - opera "Vita Nuova" (New Life);

- "Opera / Conductor's Work" - Chief Conductor of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, People's Artist of Bashkortostan Artyom Makarov;

- "Opera / director's work" - Elizaveta Korneeva;

- "The work of a composer in a musical theater" - Vladimir Martynov;

- "The work of the artist in the musical theater" - Ekaterina Ageniy, Liana Makaryan;

- "The work of a lighting designer in a musical theater" - Irina Vtornikova.

The world premiere of the stage performance of the opera Vita Nuova (New Life) by the Soviet and Russian composer, musicologist and philosopher Vladimir Martynov took place at the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater in March last year. The work was written based on the work of the same name by the Italian medieval poet, thinker and theologian Dante Alighieri.
