On December 23, the National Library named after Akhmet-Zaki Validi of the Republic of Bashkortostan, together with the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the UFIC, held a round table dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of the poet, linguist, literary critic and folklorist Gabdulla Amantai (1907-1938).
Gabdulla Amantai is one of the founders of the Bashkir philological science, a talented scientist, poet, and a prominent public figure. Lived a short but vibrant life.He was born in the village of Verkhnee-Ilyasovo, Buzuluk district, Samara province, now Krasnogvardeisky district, Orenburg region. In 1926 - 1928 he was the editor of the youth newspapers "Yash yuҡһyl", "Bashkortostan youth". In 1933 - 1936 he was the director of the Bashkir Research Institute of National Culture, editor of the magazine "October". He was repressed in 1937, shot in 1938. In 1957 he was rehabilitated.
