The exhibition "Art of the East" at M.V. Nesterov’s museum is completing its work. All lovers of oriental art are invited to visit the exposition till the end of February.
The exhibition presents the most completed exposition of the collection of Oriental art in the collection of the M.V. Nesterov’s Bashkir State Art Museum. The collection is made of works of art that came to the museum in the 1920s–1950s from the Ufa Provincial Museum, Ufa Gubchek, the Department of Social Welfare, the State Moscow and Petrograd Museum Funds, as well as items purchased from private individuals. The works received by the museum allow getting a rich idea of the artistic culture of the Far and Near East of the 17th - early 20th centuries.
About two hundred works created by the masters of China, Japan, Mauritanian Spain, Iran and the Ottoman Empire are demonstrated in one hall for the first time. The exposition demonstrates works of fine and decorative arts traditional for these countries: sculpture, painting, artistic bronze, toreutics, stone, wood and bone carving, porcelain, cloisonne and painted enamel, weapons, household items and much more. there are unique monuments among the art-works of the exhibition presented to the general public for the first time.
