Within the XV International festival of opera art "Shalyapinsky evenings in Ufa" on the stage of Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre there has passed the opera "Prince Igor" - the only opera in the program of a festival which is performed in Russian.
In the legendary opera two soloists of the Maryinsky Theater have acted: in Igor Svyatoslavich's party — the Eden Umerov, Vladimir Igorevich — Dmitry Voropayev. (It is remarkable that 126 years ago the premiere of the opera was held at the St. Petersburg Maryinsky Theater). As Yaroslavna — Olga Terentyeva representing the Moscow theater "New Opera". The public has seen the prince Galitsky in the embodiment of a young bass, the soloist of the Ufa and Astana theaters, the participant of the Shalyapinsky competition Artur Kaipkulov. As Konchak people's favorite artist of an opera scene of Bashkortostan Askar Abdrazakov has acted.
The performance was the live embodiment of Russia of Igor Svyatoslavich times – with the epic bogatyrs betrayed by followers and worthy rivals. Bright images of the main characters had something in common and supplemented each other, and national epic lines of eternal history have transferred the atmosphere of those years.
Alexander Borodin's opera based on the Russian epic poem "Tale of Igor's Campaign", is interesting in the way that composer didn't finish the great work which he wrote for 18 years — the work has no clear final, and for any director it is a huge question, and an opportunity to imagine about the final at the same time. "Prince Igor" finished by Rimsky-Korsakov and Glazunov. On the basis of Borodin's materials they made the full score of this opera, having processed a number of episodes and having added certain unfinished stages.
We remind that a concert of the Russian sacred music performed by the State academic choral chapel of the Republic of Bashkortostan which will take place today, on September 22 will become continuation of the "Shalyapinsky Evenings in Ufa" festival.
