The premiere of the opera "Eugene Onegin" took place at the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre on 4, July. The production has become the eighth stage incarnation of this opera in the history of the theater.
There was Media Q&A Session before the play, where journalists talked with the production team: director Laysan Safargulova, production designer, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ivan Skladchikov and choreographer Ramune Khodorkaite.
“Due to the pandemic, this show was postponed. When I found out that I was a director, there might have been some kind of fear. But after that came the thirst for work and sweet anticipation. We have already done everything that depended on us, and now we will enjoy it together with the audience”, - said Laysan Safargulova. It should be noted that this work is her debut as an opera director.
The choreographer of "Eugene Onegin" is the actress, choreographer and teacher Ramune Khodorkaite. As a choreographer, she collaborates with famous theater directors.
Ivan Skladchikov admitted that his favorite character in the opera is Tatyana.
“The whole performance is Tatiana's flashbacks, and only the last Tatiana is real in this life. Everything else expresses her memories. Therefore, to be honest, I started with Tatyana's final dress, - said the production designer. He created more than 300 costumes for "Eugene Onegin". During the entire performance, the characters change their clothes 3 times.
