The project in support of Russian libraries - "BiblioRodina" with the assistance of Planeta.ru kraudfanding platform, Russian Library Association (RLA), Russian School Library Association (RSHBA), the Russian State Duma and the Russian Post launched in Russia.
"BiblioRodina" is a service based on the principles of crowdfunding or national funding, which will allow anyone to become a patron of the project, and subscriptions to scientific and popular periodicals as a gift Russian libraries.
To date, the project involves about 5000 libraries and 13 periodicals: "Science and Life", "Young technician", "Knowledge is power", "Aerospace", "Machinery", "Inventor" "Left-handed" and others. The main objectives of "BiblioRodina" project is the establishment of a permanent, convenient and transparent mechanism to ensure that regional and municipal libraries subscriptions to scientific and popular publications; revival of libraries as cultural and scientific centers across the country; popularization of scientific knowledge; support scientific and popular publications in the conditions of lack of external financing; the development of a new approach to philanthropy in Russia.
