Today in the Burzyansky District as part of the VI CIOFF®️ World Folkloriada the monument to Akbuzat, one of the main characters of the epics, myths, and legends of the Bashkir people, was opened. "It is significant that the event takes place within the framework of the VI World Folkloriada. This symbolizes that the oral and poetic heritage of the Bashkir people - our epic "Ural Batyr" is an integral part of the world cultural heritage. And our task is to preserve it and pass it on to the future generation, " said Amina Shafikova, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The official delegation of CIOFF®️ took part in the event. "We celebrate this festival in honor of freedom, peace, and preservation of culture. Almost 40 groups from different countries of the world are located in Bashkortostan. The creative groups and representatives of the CIOFF®️ organization are happy to be here, " said Philippe Bossan, President of CIOFF. The monumental and sculptural composition "Akbuzat" is the whole life work of the author Ulfat Kubagushev. According to the author, the dreams of the monument settled in back in 1977, when the book "Bashkir Folk Epic" was published in the Moscow publishing house "Nauka". Since then, since his student days, he was seized with the idea of creating a monument to epics. The road to Akbuzat was long. Akbuzat is still the only monument to the epic tales of the Bashkir people. It was cast in the Kasli iron foundry "Kamennyi Poyas" (Russian Stone Belt). The height of the monument is 5 meters, the height of the horse itself is 3.5 meters. The director of the National Research Center Danir Gainullin also expressed his gratitude to the author: "The monument to Akbuzat is a large and very important object that will become a single tourist complex with a museum under construction. It will also help us in promoting the cave to the UNESCO World Heritage List since it connects the cave, its Paleolithic drawings with the ancient history of the area, legends and epics of the population".
Local folklore groups and children – readers of epics came to the stage in front of the Akbuzat and introduced the guests to the traditions and rich cultural heritage of the local people. The colorful holiday ended with an enchanting concert by Robert Yuldashev, the "Kuraysy" Group, and the "Guzel" Dance Ensemble.
