Within the framework of the project "Theaters of Small Cities" of the party "United Russia", six theaters of the republic will receive support. This is directed to 34.8 million rubles from the federal budget on terms of republican co-financing of 10%.

The scope of the project is the municipal theaters of small towns, support for creative activities and productions, the acquisition of costumes and the production of scenery. According to the criteria, the project included Sterlitamak Russian Drama Theater, Sterlitamak State Bashkir Drama Theater, Sibay Bashkir State Drama Theater named after Arslan Mubaryakov, Tuimazinsky Tatar Drama Theater, Salavat State Bashkir Drama Theater, Sibay State Children's Theater "Sulpan".

The allocated funds can be used to create new productions and display performances at the hospital, to strengthen the material and technical base of municipal theaters.

The coordinator of the project in Bashkortostan, the deputy of the State Assembly of the Republic, the director of the State Russian Dramatic Theater of the city of Sterlitamak Victoria Zamessina noted the importance and timeliness of the project.

"In recent years, the theaters of small towns have been financed by a residual principle, moreover, the funds allocated for the creation of new productions in the last five years have been halved. This affects the quality of the performances, their artistic component does not satisfy the audience, which has become more demanding and exacting. The project "Theaters of Small Cities" will help raise the level of performances and attract more viewers, "Victoria Zamessina believes.

As the project coordinator, State Duma deputy Oksana Bondar said at the All-Russian Forum "Culture is a National Priority" held in Omsk, in the framework of the "Small Towns Theaters" party project in 2017, 670 million rubles were allocated to support the theaters in small cities of Russia. This program was extended to 149 theaters in 56 subjects.
