The republican online competition of storytellers "Grandma's Tales" was launched in Bashkortostan in preparation for the World Folkloriada.
The competition is held to preserve and develop national verbal and poetic traditions, Bashkir oral folk art, identify talented storytellers, and popularize the fairy tale genre.
Competitions will be held among performers of folk tales, and folklore texts will be studied as important components of the people's spiritual culture. Within the framework of the declared project, Bashkir folk tales will be recorded and processed as one of the popular genres of Bashkir folklore while preserving the lexical, phonetic, and morphological features of the local dialect of the population. A collection will be prepared, which will later become good support in studying the Bashkir language, history, and culture in the republic's preschool and educational institutions.
Video recordings with a duration of 15-20 minutes are accepted to participate in the project. Role-playing a fairy tale (in a collective performance) is encouraged. More details about the conditions of the competition are available in the regulations.
