It is known that on September 19, 1962, the Literaturnaya Gazeta was snatched away at kiosks with lightning speed - there was published a poem by Yevgeny Yevtushenko "Babi Yar." The poet became the hero of the day. Yevtushenko himself later said: "In the Thirteenth symphony, I was stunned first of all by the fact that if I suddenly saw the rumor, I would write absolutely the same music. Moreover, Shostakovich's reading of my poems was so intonational and meaningful that it seemed that he, invisible, was inside of me when I wrote these poems, and composed music along with the birth of the lines. " The basis of the text were five poems by Yevtushenko: Babiy Yar, Humor, In the store, Fears, Career. The first performance of the symphony was held in Moscow on December 18, 1962 under the direction of Kirill Kondrashin.
The event will be held at the State Concert Hall "Bashkortostan" (Lenina, 50). The beginning at 19.00.
