The International Exhibition of crafts and trades has opened in Ufa
"The Heart of Folkloriada" – this is the name of a large-scale International Exhibition of crafts and trades opened in Ufa as part of the VI CIOFF®️ World Folkloriada.
"Yesterday we witnessed an amazing show that the Republic of Bashkortostan organized for representatives of almost 40 countries of the world. Today there will be a parade and groups will give you a unique opportunity to admire a wonderful show. In the conditions of a pandemic, it is necessary to build a new world of friendship and remember that we are all together today, tomorrow and forever," Philippe Bossan, President of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts CIOFF ®️, said at the opening ceremony.
"A craft exhibition is the most difficult thing that exists within the framework of folk culture. If you can carry songs, dances, music only in your memory, then the products of artisans will remind you of our wonderful holiday for a very long time," Tamara Purtova, President of the National section of CIOFF®️ Russia, Director of the V.D. Polenov’s State Russian House of Folk Arts greeted the participants.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova, Ambassador of the World Folkloriada, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Babkina, Chairman of the Folkloriada Committee Alejandro Camacho Gonzalez.
The exhibition presents the works of about 40 artisans from 19 countries of the world. In addition, 39 enterprises, organizations, and entrepreneurs from Ufa presented their souvenir products. The exhibition includes samples of decorative and applied art, elements of national costume, honey products, jewelry, household items and much more.
The guests of the fair were able to observe how the masters create their works, in particular, they saw the production of folk musical instruments, such as kubyz and kurai. Artisans pleased the guests with interesting workshops in wood carving, carpet making, felt making, art painting on fabric, etc.
