A young choreographer and ballet dancer of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater, Saryan Suleymanov, on March 30 will present the premiere of the new production - the one-act ballet Doctor Nobody.
As it is reported in the theater, the author's libretto, inspired by M. Bulgakov’s novel The Master and Margarita, contains the motifs of the symbolist plays of M. Meterlink, in which the concept of fatalism, rock and the theme of expectation prevails. Here one can also see connections with the plays of the late A. Strindberg, offering an appeal to the problem of Formation, Search, Path.
The ballet is written to the music of Alfred Schnittke - episodes from the following compositions are used: the opera “Life with an idiot” (“Tango in an insane asylum); Concerto-Grosso No. 1 for two violins, harpsichord, piano and string orchestra; sonata for cello and piano No. 1, as well as excerpts from the music for the film “The Tale of Wanderings”. According to Saryan Suleymanov, the ballet “Doctor Nobody” is an autobiographical work and in many respects reflects his personal philosophical views, worldview problems, which he tries to express by means of plastics and play of movements.
Saryan Suleymanov is a graduate of the Bashkir Choreographic School named after Rudolf Nureyev (2007) and the Academy of Russian Ballet named after A.Ya. Vaganova (2015, class of People’s Artist of Russia Yu.N. Petukhov), which he graduated from the educational program as choreographer and stage director. Since 2007, Saryan Suleymanov has been performing as a soloist on the BGTOiB stage, however, according to the author, he sees himself in the future more in the field of choreography.
