The IX Open Regional Choral Conducting Competition named after Shamil Ibrahimov will be held in Ufa from March 27 to 30, timed to coincide with the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Bashkir composer, choral conductor and teacher.

The creative event, in which students of III-IV courses of professional educational institutions of the sphere of culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan and other regions of Russia will take part, is aimed at promoting the choral creativity of Bashkir composers, classical and contemporary choral music, the development of choral conducting and the art of choral singing.

The jury presided over by the artistic director of the A.V. Sveshnikova Yevgenia Volkova will evaluate the performances of the contestants from the Ufa College of Arts (College), the October and Salavat Musical Colleges, the Uchaly College of Arts and Culture named after Salavat Nizametdinov, the Buzuluk Music College of the Orenburg Region.

Within the framework of the competition master classes will be held by the chairman of the jury, the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Yurlov Readings", as well as concerts of the State Academic Choir Chapel of the Republic of Bashkortostan. T. Sayfullin under the direction of Alsu Khasbiullina and the Magnitogorsk State Academic Choir Chapel. S. Eydinova, artistic director - Honored Artist of Russia Nadezhda Ivanova.
