Today at the National Youth Theater of the Republic of Bashkortostan the premiere of the play “Long-Long Childhood” on the work of the same name by the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim took place.
“A child should be happy in his childhood so that a good person will grow out of him”, - says the director of the performance, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Bashkortostan, laureate of the State Youth Prize of Sh. Babich Musalim Kulbaev.
The performance is Russian-speaking, for its production was used the translation of the book, which at one time made the son of the poet Ilgiz Karimov. Musalim Kulbaev himself worked on the staging, and designated the genre of the play as “chapters from the novel”. The composer worked on the production - Rishat Sagitov, production designer - Edward Gizatullin, costume designer - Yulia Gilyazova.
“During the creation of the play we tried to answer the question: how does it happen that people like Mustai Karim appear once in a thousand years? How did such a person appear, which to this day largely defines the foundations of our culture, philosophy, and journalism? We did not set as our goal to make a revolutionary new performance, rather we wanted to preserve what was important for Mustai Karim, which formed a great poet, a genius prose writer, a journalist, a philosopher. The complexity of this project is connected with this, which is of particular interest”, - noted Musalim Georgievich.
Mustafa Safich was immediately played by two artists — in childhood and adolescence — Renat Fathiyev, and in his mature age — People’s Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Marat Kurbangaleyev. The performer of one of the key roles, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Albina Kashanova noted that she is aware of the full degree of responsibility entrusted to her. After all, the plot is the Big Mother had a great influence on the young hero. By the way, the role of Kendega is performed by Renat Fathiyev. The actor noted that reading the original source, he caught himself on how much each character was familiar and familiar to him, the country boy.
The performance blows with simplicity and warmth - soft colors, wooden gates of the yard, native to many viewers, childhood memories, responding to each viewer in their own way.
“Almost all the works of Mustai Karim are permeated with the same atmosphere, the mood is the sunlight. The feeling that the events take place on a beautiful summer day, when it is not too hot, but sunny, and certainly a vacation. We wanted to do everything as honestly as possible, from the heart, so that every viewer had a feeling that he spoke personally with the folk poet of Bashkortostan”, - the director notes.
Recall, on May 24, the second premiere show will take place, and on May 28 the National Youth Theater with this performance will go on tour to Yekaterinburg to participate in the celebration of Mustai Karim’s anniversary in the Sverdlovsk region.
