The Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the Foundation for the Development of Modern Art with the support of the Bashkir Art Museum named after M.Nesterov present in Ufa the project "Actual Russia" - the second collective exhibition of the main trends of modern art of the country. The exhibition opening took place today, on the eve of the Night of museums.

The exhibition started on January 28, 2019 in Moscow and has now reached Ufa. Signed works and new works by contemporary artists from all over the country are united in a large-scale exhibition “Actual Russia”, the theme of which this year is Adult choice.

Modern art - "non-children's work." Painting, drawing, sculpture, multimedia works in the project “Actual Russia. Adult choice "form a total quest in which everyone answers the questions of" test for adulthood. " “Are you ready, the viewer, for a responsible decision?”, The project organizers ask.

    Ivan Demidov, Chairman of the Contemporary Art Development Fund, opened the exhibition: “For the second year in a row, we are very pleased to be here, thanks to the Nesterov Museum for its partnership. Today we present the current Russia, the work of contemporary artists. This is, in fact, an assessment of the past year by artists, they see life differently and give this or that portrait of what is happening - this year it is like that. Congratulations to all the night of museums, visit today as many places as possible. ”

The curator of the exhibition, Arseny Steiner, emphasizes that this is a review exhibition in which very different works are presented, selected according to the principle of maximum diversity - different artists, technicians, and views on art.

    “This time we mastered the whole museum, not three halls, like a year ago. I note that local artists here present works by Ayrat Teregulov, Vasil Khannanov and Maxim Kholodilin in collaboration with Radik Musin. As before, we try to cover the whole country: there are works by artists from Smolensk, Siberia, for example, ”says Arseny.

Ivan Demidov also spoke about the innovation - instead of booklets or catalogs, an application for smartphones “Actual Russia” was created, which contains all the information about the submitted works. The chairman of the foundation called for a vote within the application for the work you liked, thus making an adult choice.

The project “Actual Russia: Adult Choice” is a cycle of endlessly divergent narratives of anticipatory art. The exhibition space becomes an oracle machine, in the labyrinth of which the viewer-partner selects fate. The correct answer everyone will know when he finds a way out of the maze.
