In Ufa, it is decided on the installation place of the monument to Russian and American writer and publicist Sergei Dovlatov, the deputy head of the Ufa administration Alina Suleymanova reports.

“A site on Gogol Street, opposite the Bashkir Philharmonic Society, next to the house where the writer was born and lived was chosen for the architectural composition devoted to Sergei Dovlatov. I’m sure that it will become another attraction area for residents and visitors of the city”, said Alina Suleymanova.

As previously reported, experts of the All-Russian contest "Kulturny Sled" announced 15 top-projects of the shortlist. Two original art objects from Ufa were among them.

The project by Arthur Valeev is telling about unusual meeting of writers Sergei Dovlatov and Andrei Platonov, described in the novel "Craft". According to the author of the project, the architectural composition will become one of the main attractions of Ufa. Famous writers and young colleagues will hold literary contests near the monument, arrange thematic quest excursions and photo shoots.

The jury of the competition was comprised of leading cultural figures, architects, and urbanists. This year the competition brought together more than 800 participants from 64 regions of Russia.
