On the night of 20 to 21 May in Russia for the 11th time will be a large-scale action "Hoach of Museums", in which museums, galleries and exhibition halls will be open until midnight or even until morning.

Museums of the Republic of Bashkortostan takes part in this action for the seventh consecutive year.

In 2017, the "Night of Museums-2017" action in Bashkortostan is held in three main themes. The first theme was "1917 and Bashkortostan". In 2017, the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Russian Revolution is celebrated. At the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, all museums in Russia will host events dedicated to the Revolution of 1917 in the Night of Museums.

The second theme is "The Year of Ecology and Specially Protected Natural Territories", announced in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Under this theme, the museums will present exhibitions and hold public events dedicated to the protection of the nature of their native land.

The third theme - "Folkdzhem: Towards World Folkloriad 2020". In 2020, the world folklore festival will be held in Ufa. In preparation for this significant event and at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, mass events on folklore and ethnographic topics, vocal-instrumental concerts, exhibitions of folk decorative and applied arts, exhibitions and master classes of folk Craftsmen.

In 2017, on the evening of May 20, more than 100 museums and galleries of various profiles and forms of ownership will open their doors for visitors: 23 state and 71 municipal museums, 11 museums with cultural and leisure facilities and library facilities, the Post Museum, private museums in Ufa: Center for Contemporary Art "Clouds", Interactive Museum of Entertaining Sciences "Intellectus" and Museum of Soviet Life, as well as a contact zoo "Forest Embassy" and the Bashkir State Puppet Theater.
