Recently, the Bashkir regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society organized an expedition to Kabardino-Balkaria. The goal was to climb the nameless summit of the Main Caucasian Range, which is 3555 meters above sea level, and on the eve of the centenary of the national poet of Bashkortostan, was assigned to the peak of Mustai Karim.
The peak was not chosen by chance - the peak of the national poet of Kabardino-Balkaria Kaisyn Kuliyev, a great friend of Mustai Karim, stands nearby. The peak of another great poet of Kabardino-Balkaria, Alim Keshokov, also rises in the Chegem Gorge. The peak of the Bashkir writer was the third in the Chegem gorge.
Before climbing at the monument to Kaysyn Kuliyev, the expedition met with the writers of the republic, representatives of the republican authorities and residents of Nalchik.
“Now the third peak in the Chegemsky District will be named after the well-known and beloved poet, Mustai Karim. This event is very important for educating our younger generation in the spirit of internationalism and friendship. This galaxy of legendary personalities, the sons of his people, serves as an example for posterity, which will be discussed for many years to come, ”said the deputy chairman of the republic’s parliament, Salim Zhanatayev.
At the rally, the chairman of the Russian Geographical Society, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan, the winner of the Republican Prize. Salavat Yulaeva Kamil Ziganshin noted the historical importance of this event:
“Few have done as much as they did for the credibility and recognition of their republic, their country. This is a beautiful and important event for strengthening the friendship of the peoples between our republics”.
