Today, on August 29, a solemn ceremony of opening a memorial plaque to the outstanding dancer, choreographer and teacher, Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Bashkortostan Shamil Teregulov (1947-2008) took place in Ufa.

The memorial ceremony was attended by relatives and friends of Shamil Akhmedovich, his colleagues, students, representatives of the cultural community.

-In the 90s, he brought his students, who had not yet graduated from the choreographic school, to the theater, and the theater troupe began to grow. Shamil Akhmedovich first called the great choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, cooperation began with him, and this gave a great impetus to the development of the theater and the growth of artists. Shamil staged a large number of performances, his "Romeo and Juliet", "The Fountain of Bakhchisaray" have been running for about 20 years. These performances are popular not only with the audience, but also with the actors. Artists want to get the role of Juliet, Zarema, Maria. His students work all over the world - at the Mariinsky Theater, in Covent Garden, and this speaks of the quality of his work, - said Shamil Teregulov's wife, chief choreographer, artistic director of the Bashkir opera and ballet theater ballet troupe Leonora Kuvatova.

In the near future, memorial plaques to two more legendary personalities will also be opened in Ufa - the ballerina Zaytuna Nasretdinova and the singer Magafura Saligaskarova.

Shamil Akhmedovich was an unusually gifted person, sociable, kind, a man of encyclopedic knowledge. This is how he was remembered by everyone who knew him, his merits in the development of choreographic art are inscribed like a bright page in the history of culture of Russia and Bashkortostan.
