On March 17, Rudolf Nureyev’s birthday a retro premiere of a film “Venice. Carnival. Love” (Venezia, Carnevale, Un Amore) starring Rudolf Nureyev will be held at Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater. The film screening will take place in the Great Hall of the theater on the opening day of the first regional stage of the International Cultural Project "Nureyev Seasons" and the traditional "Nureyev Days", which are held annually at Bashopera in honor of the great dancer's birthday.

The movie “Venice. Carnival. Love” filmed in 1981-82 by the Italian film director Mario Lanfranchi, takes a special place among documentaries and feature films about Rudolf Nureyev. The movie was lost in the archives for almost 40 years and has never been shown in Russia. The film was found, restored and translated into Russian by the organizers of the “Nureyev Seasons” and will be shown for the first time in Ufa on March 17.

Before the film screening, there will be a performance in the lobby of the theater with participation of ballet troupe artists and students of the Ufa Choreographic College named after Rudolf Nureyev. The theater museum will host an exhibition of heretofore unknown photographs of Rudolf Nureyev, depicting him during filming in Venice. It is expected that artists who personally knew Rudolf Nureyev will attend the opening ceremony of the "Nureyev Seasons".

The arrival of guests will begin at 5.30 p.m, the show will start at 7.00 p.m. The entrance to the event is free. In order to visit the event please fill in the form before March 15. Your ticket will be sent by e-mail in a response to the application indicating the reserved seats in the hall.

Reference. The “Nureyev Seasons” project has existed since 2018 and this year for the first time it will be held in three Russian cities at once - Moscow, Ufa and Kazan. The events in Ufa will start at the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater on March 17 and will continue till March 21.
