On May 9, on Sovetskaya Square in Ufa, a solemn ceremony was held for laying a shell with ground in the foundation of the future monument to the Hero of Russia, commander of the 112th Bashkir Cavalry Division, Major General Minigali Shaimuratov. The ceremony was attended by the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, guests of honor, veterans, students of cadet corps, residents and guests of Ufa.

The marathon started on May 1 in Ufa's Victory Park and for 8 days was held in all corners of the republic, from where the soldiers left to defend their native land. As part of the “Land of Memory” marathon, solemn events were held in each district and city with the involvement of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, children of war, war veterans, schoolchildren, students, Yunarmiya members, members of military patriotic clubs.
