"Tamyr" as a children's television and radio studio was founded on March 2, 1992. For 30 years, from two programs - one on radio and one on television - "Tamyr" has turned into a large television and radio structure of the State Unitary Enterprise TRK "Bashkortostan" of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Bashkir Satellite Television (BST) and the company's radio channels broadcast dozens of high-quality children's programs of their own production.

On December 2, 2010, round-the-clock broadcasting of the children's and youth TV channel "Tamyr" was launched in the cable networks of the republic. The channel's program includes programs of its own production, as well as animated and documentary films dubbed into the Bashkir language.

In the all-Russian space, "Tamyr" has become a vivid example of education based on the native language and native culture. Throughout Russia, the Tamyr TV channel is known and appreciated as a professional workshop that produces high-quality content. Films and programs created by the children's TV channel have won dozens of international festivals.  "Tamyr" received nine Bronze Orpheus of the Highest Television Award of Russia "TEFI-Region".

In 2016, the TV channel "Tamyr" became the winner in the "Children's TV channel" nomination of the National Award in the field of satellite, cable and Internet television "Golden Ray".

In recent years, "Tamyr" creates unique large-scale projects within the modest regional budget. Television teenage series "Bireshmә!" (Don't give up! - 2 seasons), "Yshan" (Believe); animated series "Nurbostan"; The first television competition of performers of Bashkir classical music "Elkan"; The first children's award "Bireshmә!", television competition lullaby songs "Bishek" television competition for young bards "Kosh yuly.
