Soloist of the Bashkir State Philharmonic, laureate of many international competitions Ekaterina Yamshchikova will visit Almaty for the third time. In 2015 she came to the festival as a special guest with an ethno-rock band "Argymak", and the following year she performed with her own band.
In folk-project "Katya Yamshchikova" musicians play Russian folk songs, using instruments of different nations of the world and mixing genres. According to the vocalist, the mixture of styles makes music more interesting and diverse.
The singer said that after performing at The Spirit of Tengri in 2016 during the year the group was very fruitful. In particular, the repertoire was expanded, three songs for the new album were recorded, and one of them was filmed.
"Our performance at the jubilee festival The Spirit of Tengri will consist of folk songs in the Old Russian language, they will be performed in our arrangements and interpretations, there will be new songs and some of the things we've done before. "In the year after the performance at the festival, the emotions were full, it was very cool, especially we liked the Kazakh audience, who supported us so warmly, and, of course, your hospitality, the mountains." All the musicians and I are looking forward to a new meeting, "- Says Ekaterina Yamshchikov .
The singer notes that for her the anniversary festival The Spirit of Tengri will be different from the previous one. "It will be different, it will be a very large number of musicians, and expanded geography." A lot of countries will be represented: Japan, the United States, Africa, Algeria, Israel, Lithuania Last year I especially remember the joint performance of the Tuvan group "Huun- TU "and DJ Carmen Rizzo from the US It was very interesting, I'm looking forward to meeting with them, even with a team from Lithuania Marga Muzika, who, as I know, sings songs protected by UNESCO It's very interesting to hear what they are doing, - shared Yamshchikova.
