Opera singer from Bashkortostan Aigul Ahmetshina became a member of the youth program of Covent Garden in London. The owner of a coloratura mezzo-soprano, she underwent a rigorous selection and had the opportunity to work on probation for two years in one of the most famous theaters in the world - the Royal Opera House. Five singers, among whom were Russian who passed the competition, which involved more than 365 young artists from 61 countries. Auditions were held in August 2016, 67 best participants were selected based on the results. After three rounds of competition short list of 12 contenders was formed. The last stage, which was attended by 12 singers, was held on the main stage of Covent Garden, in the jury all the music directors of the theater.
 
The two-year internship in Covent Garden - a great start for young artists. They are taught acting, stage movement, singing opera and other disciplines. Unlike traditional apprenticeship programs, youth program participants sign a contract with the theater and receive a salary for their work for two years.
