Anastasia Kaplina, a first-year student of the Rudolf Nureyev Bashkir Choreographic College, became a diploma holder at the 16th Yekaterina Maximova Open Russian Ballet Competition "Arabesque".
Anastasia Kaplina is from the city of Sibay. She has been studying at Rudolf Nureyev Bashkir Choreographic College since 2017, has repeatedly participated, and has become a laureate of ballet festivals and competitions. At the "Arabesque" competition, she took part in the junior competition group.
34 young ballet dancers participated in the main competition "Arabesque-2020". The geography of the current competition includes Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Nizhny Tagil, Ufa, Voronezh, and other Russian cities. Dancers from Argentina, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Finland, and Japan also took part in the "Arabesque". Competitive showing of "Arabesque" and the gala concert were held behind closed doors, without the admission of spectators.
The "Arabesque" has been held since 1990 and is now one of the most prestigious ballet competitions. Young dancers from 13 to 26 years old, representing different choreographic schools, take part in it. Since 2010, "the best dancer of the 20th century", choreographer and teacher Vladimir Vasiliev has been the jury's chairman.
