March 7, 2022 is the 75th anniversary of Vafin Mels Gadelovich, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
Mels Vafin is a painter, a graphic artist, a teacher. He works in pastels, gouache, mixed technique. The main themes of the artist's work are history and homeland. His works are stored at the Bashkir State Art Museum of M.V. Nesterov (Ufa), the Memorial House-Museum of Gabdulla Galiyev Batyrshi (the village of Starobaltachevo, Baltachevsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan), in private collections in Russia, the CIS countries and abroad (Cuba, Turkey).
Historical paintings take the main place in his art. They are reflecting the life and work of the famous educator of the 18th century, the author of an analytical treatise on Bashkiria in the first half of the 18th century, the inspirer, ideologist and organizer of the Bashkir uprising of 1755–1756, Mullah Gabdulla Galiyev Batyrshi and the painting “Kuluy, a loyal subject of the Russian Empire Baltach, foreman of the Kara-Tabyn and Kyr-Tanyp volosts, head of the Bashkir troops at A.V. Suvorov. Poland. 1771–1772”, which will tell the story of the origin of the Baltachevsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, where the artist was born and grew up.
On the occasion of the anniversary of Mels Gadelovich, a small exhibition of documents from the personal fund was opened in the archival service of the Administration of the Baltachevsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The exhibition presents an autobiography, articles about Vafin's work, copies of diplomas, photographic documents.
