The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan will host the opening of the exhibition "Swords and Daggers - Faithful Companions of the Ancient Warriors of the Steppes" on February, 18.
The exhibition will feature weapons from the early Iron Age: a Chinese long sword covered with patterns, short akinaki with the heads of predators.
N.S. Savelyev (archaeologist-specialist in ancient weapons, senior researcher at the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Central Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences) will tell visitors about the military affairs of the nomads of the Great Steppe and the sacred role of weapons in the daily life and rituals of nomads.
The exhibition is recommended for visitors 6+.
The event will start at 2 p.m. and will continue for 45 minutes.
