February 13th, on 150 years birthday of Fedor Shalyapin there will be start of official opening of the year related to celebration of this great date at the National Museum of Bashkortostan.

On this day in the main museum of republic there will present an exhibition called "Shalyapin in Ufa. History of the greatest debut", where visitors will see singer's personal clothing, his photos and autographs, the rarest antique of XIX-XX frontier. It is said that general public will meet foundations of Ufa’s Interregional Shalyapin Centre for the fist time for 25 years.

Fedor Ivanovich Shalyapin is called the greatest bass singer of all times and peoples. Opera and chamber singer, the first of Russian singer with world’s confession he was solo singer of Bolshoi and Mariinka theaters and also Metropolitan Opera. Shalyapins debut as an opera singer was in Ufa at December 18th 1890. He sang a part of Stolnik in Monushka’s opera called “Galka” at the scene of Ufa’s city theatre.

Shalyapin has remembered this short season in Ufa for all his life. Being famous singer, he celebrated his anniversaries and solemn dates counting years of his theatric life from those memorable Ufa’s tour. In Ufa he achieved his first theatric mastery.

“Ufa city is the cradle of my father’s creative life” – that’s how Irina Fedorovna, his daughter, reminds about it at solemn ceremony of opening memorial plate in his honor on Ufa’s State Art Academy named by Z. Ismagilov.

During the period of exhibition there will be cinemas, lections and art performances. 

Working time for visitors is since 11:00 till 6:00 p.m., Saturday – Sunday since 11:00 till 5:30 p.m.
