Booker of the Decade nominees announced in Moscow

A short list of candidates for the Russian Booker of the Decade literary prize has been announced in Moscow.

The five nominees selected from more than 42 novels are “Ninth Day Party in Karaganda or the Story of the Recent Days” by Oleg Pavlov, “Sankya” by Zakhar Prilepin, “The Yeltyshevs” by Roman Senchhin, “Daniel Stein, Interpreter” by Lyudmila Ulitskaya and “Haze Sets upon the Old Steps” by Alexander Chudakov.

Russia’s annual independent Booker award was established in December 1991. (RBC)
