The people’s poet of Bashkortostan Rami Yagafarovich Garipov was born on the 12th of February, 1932, in the village of Arkaul, Salavat region, Bashkortostan. He got his education at the Institute of Literature named after Gorky.
He started publishing poetry in the 1950s. His collection of poems “Yuruzan”, “A Stone Flower”, “A Lark’s Song” is dedicated to nature, native land and fellow country-men. In his following books: “The Flight”, “A Cherished Word”, “Mountain Ash” his inclination to philosophical lyrics is felt. The poet revived and brought into development the genres of “Kubair” and classical folk songs.
