Гумер Гариф

Garif Gumer (Garif Murtazovich Gumerov) was born on the 10th of December, 1891 in the village of Kirgiz-Miyaki, Belebei region, Bashkortostan. He studied at the Muslim School “Khusaniya” in Orenbug.

He took up literature in the 1920s. He works in the genres of poetry and prose.
Publicist pathos prevails in his books. In his novel “Winds of the Revolution” (1925) G.Gumer pictures the heroic pages of the Civil War. The stories “Friendship and Love” (1953), “A Town on Waves” (1950) describe the events of the Great Patriotic War.
“Zhanyl” (1960) and “From the Threshold Inside” (1963) are autobiographical memories.
