Наджми Назар

Nazar Nadjmi (Nazar Nadjmetdinovich Nadjmetdinov), a national poet of Bashkortostan was born on the 5th of February, 1918 in the village of Minishty, Durtily region, Bashkortostan. He was educated at the Bashkir State Pedagogical Institute. Being a participant of the Great Patriotic War, he was awarded Orders of the Patriotic War, of the Rd Star and medals.

For his work in the branch of literature he was awarded the Orders of October Revolution and of the Red Banner of Labour. He was a laureate of the State prize of the Russian Federation and S.Yulaev republication prize.
He took up literature in the 1930s, worked in the genres of poetry and playwriting. His books of poems “Droplets” (1950), “Waves” (1955), “A sudden rain” (1960), “Land and song” (1962) are permeated with picturesque and bright imagery, deep lyricism and light humor. In his books “snow is falling” (1971), “Quite unexpectedly” (1973), “Before dark” (1984) and others such grave problems as patriotic feelings, international friendship, and responsibility of man before the époque and country are raised.
The plays of moral-ethic character “A spring song”, “A farewell to Khairush”, “An unexpected guest” and some others were staged and made great hits with the public.
